With our busy and fast-paced lifestyles, we sometimes forget to focus on ourselves. Making sure our bodies are healthy and fit may seem like an impossible task considering when there’s only so many hours in the day. You know you should exercise and you want to workout but you can’t find the time to do it. Consider working out in the morning! You may think this is hard to do but here at the Training Station, we have some valid reasons as to why you should get your workout done in the morning.
Do you drink coffee to get your morning’s started? Working out is a great alternative to coffee. Studies show that exercising in the morning can actually help give you the energy needed for the day! When you wake up, a morning workout can be done to really wake you up instead of caffeine.
Another reason to work out before work is to gain the full benefits of eating breakfast. After working out in the morning, your body has a boost in metabolism. Thereby allowing your body to burn off more of the calories that you consume during the day. You may even take your approach on food differently throughout the day knowing that you worked out in the morning.
When you work out in the morning, you will have a more restful sleep at night. According to a 2011 study, people who workout in the morning experience a 10 percent decrease in blood pressure throughout their day and a 25 percent decrease at night. Also, they said to have slept longer and had more beneficial sleep cycles.
In order to have a successful morning workout, it is important to keep these things in mind. After a long sleep, your muscles and joints are much stiffer than they would be if you work out later in the day. Make sure to properly stretch and warm up your body this way you don’t strain it! Another thing to keep in mind is to set a schedule for when you want to workout in the morning and keep to it! A restful night of sleep may also help you prepare for your morning workout.
