A popular form of fitness, yoga was created around 5,00 years ago. Over time, this discipline has adapted and evolved into new forms that are still being practiced today. Through these worldly changes, Reiki was formed. But what does this form of exercise do and how was it started? If you are interested in learning more about this then you are in luck! Training Station is here to teach you everything you need to know about reiki.
Origins
A practice used to bring back balance to your energy, this discipline is rooted in Japan. In fact, the word “reiki” can be broken up in two parts, “rei” meaning a higher intelligence and”ki” which translates to energy. In other words, it means a guide to a deeper understanding of your life force. Unlike yoga, which has ties to Buddhism, this exercise is not related to any particular religion. It is purely used as a form of healing and enlightenment to balance your mind, body, and soul.
Uses
Although Reiki experiences vary from person to person, it is typically used to help deal with things like insomnia, depression, headaches, anxiety, or other emotional issues. Through the various poses, breathing techniques, and balancing, it is believed that practicing this alters your flow of energy, leaving you calmer and stress-free. Stress is known to affect your body physically. By practicing reiki and reducing the stress in your life, you will be helping your body immensely.
What to Expect
The power of Reiki has everything to do with the hands. This is where the teacher flows good energy to the student while they perform various positions. These stances allow the teacher to pinpoint optimal areas to pass their energy to the student. Depending on the needs of the student, they may leave their hands there anywhere between 3 and 10 minutes. Typically at the end of a session, one may feel a deep relaxation and understanding of the energy that flows around them on the spiritual level, giving you peace of mind and confidence through a relaxed state.
